A nuclear fusion reaction: two hydrogen atoms combine to form helium. Nuclear fusion reactions release far more energy than the nuclear fission reactions used today for the production of electricity. The problem, however, is to make the fusion occur at much lower temperatures than are possible today. Hence the research to create a "cold fusion" reaction. |
Can a research professor of physics be romantic? Can he have a "warm heart"? We'll let you decide. In our story, though, he'll need a few skills in addition to physics: he will have to protect the life of the girl he loves. |
